Default Why the grease niples were removed?

I have a 2002 sportsman 400 it has like 24 niples
I have looked at the neww modles and now they are gone, and the a-arm's look the same. I think that this was a bad idea as far a ware and tare go.
Any reasons or coments why they got rid of them

Thats one thing that a lot of people b!tched about, having to grease the machine. I like the idea of being able to keep the parts lubed with fresh grease though

a sealed fitting is better for people who like to go into water... with a zerk you should grease when ever they get too wet... i think thats why...

Sealed...Yea right...

the failure rate of the "sealed" u- joints should be interesting.

I definatly think they should have never took them out, I grease mine all the time, especial after going though water, pumping grease in pushes any water out that got in, and it works. Myself i like greaseing it up, *** long as it keeps the bike going longer, im in.

Ya,,who was the dummy who made that idea..I like to be able to take my grease gun and grease the joints with ease...For me that would be a problem....They should never make a quad were it isn't easy to regrease.

I think they were going for the idea of being able to just ride and not have to maintain anything. The people complained about other brands not having near as many grease fittings, so polaris inturn eliminated them all. It may not have been the smartest idea, but I suppose it draws the customers who don't actually ride hard, and those who don't like to "know" for sure that their quad is in good condition.

Probably the same guy who made that decision on virtually every automobile manufactured in the last 15 years! Ever tried to grease the driveline or ball joints on a newer car or truck?
