I have a friend that is going to list his atv locally and wanted to know what he should ask and what it will get. The atv is in good operating condition and needs nothing-load and go. I told him I'm not familiar with these models much and that I would ask you all the "prfessionals". What is it worth? On a side note and I've always wanted to know, what is the difference between the 500 HO and the 500? Thanks for the feedback

 

The 500 HO came out in 98. It has 20% more power and the concentric drive with shaft drive up front. He should be able to shoot for $4500

 

That much? Good for him. Is that to say the 2001 regardless is a 500 HO? Or is the 500 HO is an option for the 500?

 

All 98 and newer Scram 500's are HO. I would say 4000- 4500

Price on these things in the used market is very up and down. Dependent on supply and demand of where you are. Like anything it is just dependent on what people are willing to pay in your area.
Being a 4x2 I think will hurt on re-sale.

I got my NEW 2000 400 4x4 off the show room floor in September of 2001 for $3800.00
They were just trying to get it off the floor.
A year later I bought my 1999 400 4x4 with the full AAEN440 big bore kit off the used market for$2700.00
So to say a used 500 4x2 will go for $4000.00, I wouldn't pay it, around here anyway.
The bike was what? $5200 new????

 

I have to agree, its worth 4000-4500 around here.
