Default please tell me anything you know about using slime!

this is my first post so whats up? im a new polaris owner.....2004 scrambler 500 4x4, and have tons of questions but my immediate problem is one of my front tires slowly leaks air from some spots around the wheel. theres no damage to the wheel, and i tried loosening the seal some (not very successfully, what a pain!) and no luck. so, i wanted to see if putting slime in or fix a flat is a good idea. i bought the slime but waiting for some feedback before i put it in. so far ive seen conflicting opinions on whether or not it throws off the balance at higher speeds, has to be added every two years, etc. please let me know as much as you know about the stuff or have heard. thanks

I had a slow leak in my front tires. Since I put the slime in, it hasnt leaked since. The stuff really does seal good. But, for me it through the tire balance off. It feels like it is going to shake my teeth right out at speeds over 40mph. I dont know whether I will use it again or not, but the stuff does have to come out

engines?? It is for tires. Anyways, I had it in some tires when I bought my quad, and I wanted it out so I could be lighter and change my tires. It is a pain to clean out, and it really stinks too.

Welcome to the forum, I too have had good luck with slime working on my slow leaks. Our Polaris is the wife's bike, so, I don't ride it all that much, her bike seems to vibrate at any speed, for her it's not a problem. I guess if I rode it more often or if it was my bike, I would try to find out why? Always thought it was her paddles though?
I recommend buying only what you will use in a certain amount of time. I bought a gallon size jug, used some of it. When I went back to using what I had left, it had started to solidify in the jug.

I would not put it in your engine but if you do put it in your tires it will work and hold as long as the tire lasts

No. For some people it doesnt shake, but for others (like me) it did cause a shake.

Alwayssomethin, I just had the same problem you have with the leak around the rim. Put Slime in and it sealed right up. Can't speak on throwing the tires out of balance. Haven't had her over 30 yet since I put it in.
