400 scrambler
I am looking at a 98 400 scrambler and the guy says" The reverse takes a minute to come in but once it does it works fine. You just have to play with it for a minute. The man at the dealership says that is from the belt as well and should correct itself whenever the belt is replaced". Does this sound right to anyone? Don't know alot about the belt drives yet. I have a sportsman as well and was wanting something a little sportier to go with it... Goin in the right direction I guess

400 scrambler
My first guess would be the linkage adjustment or the bell crank (that little arm on top of the tranny that shifts it) may be stripped a little. If it had anything to do with the belt, I would suspect it would act the same in forward as reverse if it were a belt problem.
Trailblazer1989,
I'd love to know where you can get a 90.50mm piston for the 400 - I might like to stick one in my Scrammy, can you post a link to a web site were I can find one?
