Scrambler Clutch assembly Question
#1
Hi all,
As you may remember I has some problems with my 99 500 Scrambler clutch. After alot of good advise I decided it was better to find a different one. I found one on EBAY (a new take-off from a dealer) and it arrived today.
I knew that it didn't have a spring or weights which is good as I had a clutch kit on my original one. I installed the weights without a problem, and was going to install the spring when I noticed that the spider was loose. No big deal I thought as I have the tools to put it together.
I went to my factory manual to check the torque specs and to double check what I did so far was correct. I read in the manual that when a clutch is disassembled, you need to keep the X's aligned to maintain the balance. I noticed that the X on the spider and the X on the clutch cage itself were not lined up. The X on the spider and the clutch top cover were lined up.
Before I torque the spider down, should I line up the X's on all 3 parts?
thanks
Steve
