Default 400 scrambler.. WOW!!

I just recently got a 400 scrambler and about the only thing I was use to was my 2000 Sportsman. WOW! I can't beleive how much faster that 400 is, kinda like a rocket next to the Sportsman..lol.. Giving up a whole lot of comfy ride, but I think its worth it( now I can mess with a friend of mine with a 400 ex..lol) Now I see what I been missing all this time ! lol

I reccomend getting that 400 modded a little your best bet is pipe, porting and air cleaner. That way you will spank ur buddies 400ex.

Do a search for "400 air box mods ???" and read what Bubba says about how to mod the air box. Its free and it helps.

I would Highly recomend a HOT SEAT pipe and clutch kit along with a Uni filter and rejetting, and even possibly porting. I have done all and let me tell you what a difference it makes. The bike performs like it should from factory. On pavement you'll flip it right over if you gas it to hard. And it will be so much more responsive and powerfull. I ride with mostly Dirt bikes in the Michigan trails and most of them race. My first time out with them they were very impressed with it's performance in the trail, as the all said that when they usually ride with Quads, they have to wait up for them at each trail head, and were surprised to see me about to run them over. I have never had another quad of any kind come up on me from behind "in the trail". In fact I usually force them to pull over in front of me... Now I am not saying that you are going to be beating banshees and 400ex on a track or in a dead line race, good luck if you try. I am saying that this is in my oppinion one of the best "trail" quads that I have owned. I ride it like my sled!!! It is also a great hill climber, at least in the sand....

hot seat speed kit is worth every penny, donot drill your air box, purchase hotseats billet intake, its safer in wet conditions, all and all the hot seat speed kits rocks! you wont regret it! money well spent
