Predator front brake line warranty repair
#1
Just got my pred back from the dealer for the warranty front brake repair - In terms of customer service I rate the experience and A+. However, as for the quality of replaced parts I have to give it a D-. To be fair Its not that I don’t think the parts will work as promised, its just that it looks hokey (several large black zip ties, a cut down plastic clip on the upper a-arm and a metal bracket which also makes liberal use of zip ties) I took some picts of the repair and will try to post them in my gallery later in the day so you can judge for yourself. Anyone else have the repair done yet? Would like to hear what you thought of the new parts.

Hey Hozed, I updated my gallery page with two images, which should give you a good idea as to what’s involved. I think this was an issue before they shipped as the front brake splitter box already had the mounting wholes machined into them prior to the warranty notice. As for me i am now looking for a cleaner solution than the polaris provided fix - any ideas?

lol.. ya why were the holes already there? hmmmm makes you wonder...
as far as another fix... i dunno... i still aint quite sure what cause them to do it... i think it had something to do with the a-arms being fully extended and pulling them out right?

I'm sure Polaris engineering had their reasons for application. You gotta give them credit, they've stepped up above and beyond to keep people happy on their first true sport quad. I've heard many stories of far out of warranty repairs being covered. Considering what all us yahoo's put these things through....that's worth a lot. Just a quick suggestion. If you don't like the brake split bracket mounting, it should be an easy task to fab up a bracket and tack weld it to the frame. I think someone on here, or Predatorowners.com recently posted a paint match to the Preds powdercoated frame. Quick and simple, if you don't like their idea.
P.S. Lawyer's disclaimer, I have not studied this application in detail, and in person. Apply my ideas at your own risk.

I was just wondering why they didn't just change it back to the way the 03's are, because I have had no problem with brakes, have you guys on your 03's??

When I had my pred, I lost one of those brake covers along the a-arm during my first race, so I had zip ties there first thing anyway!! Zip ties may look cheesy in some places, but they are a very powerful tool...I use them all the time on my quad!!
