Default Scrambler 4x4... is this a good choice?

I just heard about a fairly new Scrambler for sale I assume (02 or 03)….I don’t know much about Polaris but I hear that this particular machine has only 94 miles on it and hardly any scratches. I have the price…but what do you guys think its worth…also… I realize this is a Polaris forum but what's your overall impression of that particular model…. i.e. reliability, speed, 4 wheel drive capability, etc…. thanks for any info you choose to post

I have an 02 and you cannot go wrong with the two stroke. The four stroke is a sportsman engine and they are proven as well.

My brother has a '03 Scrambler and the only problems have been with flat tires and bent rims but that's mostly from abuse. The belt gets wet sometimes in deep water. I don't know what top speed is but my Prairie does 65 and he's not too far behind Ground clearance is good and you should be able to hang with any 4x4 except for deep mud. Scrambler does not have low range or engine braking which kind of sucks. However it is lighter and narrower than any other 4x4 and is a blast on the tight and twisties. Suspension works well. One lever brakes all four wheels which some people like but I don't. Good all around quad.

The scrambler 500 is an excelent machine. I have a scrammy 4x4...Its one of those all in one quads...you have the sporty look with speed plus you have the 4x4 capability to get you out of tight situations..its not the best in one class but it is good in every class. and ya a stock would do around 65..but with some mods you can increase it. So if you get a good price for it then I'd say go for it..mine has always pleased me

I also have one....The two stroke puts out 38 hp. stock...I love mine. I think you would be happy with it. If you get it let us know what you think. I always have to pull my buddies out, they also love it....If I did'nt have 4x4 they would still be stuck.

I have owned a Scrambler 500 4x4 a Scrambler 400 4x4 and a 500 Sportsman. The Sportsman is the best for trailriding. You can fly over anything and not feel the bumps. Scrambler 400 was a lot of fun for blasting around. I liked the 500 Scrambler also but I felt that the ride was to stiff for rough trails. Just my 2 cents. It really depends on the type of riding that you do. Good luck.

You dam right it is.. I have mine up for sale right now for $4,800

you cant beat that quad, It goes anywhere and can do just about anything with it,,, its not the best in all but it can do it... The 4wd is awesome i was driving through a creek and the water was almost up to my seat and it went right through with not one problem, belt didn't even slip... It goes around 60-65 stock BUT with the mods i had on mine pipe, clutch kit(both from HPD),k&n i got mine up to 67mph on long dirt road..

I cant say anything bad about that quad, it never failed me, never got stuck, went riding for 62miles one weekend in Michigan no problems...

Stock they are ok, with mods its a beast, awesome torque!!!
