When to use Low????
#2
If you are doing extreme towing or going very slowly, I would use low. On the 700s, if you are hovering around the 7 mph mark for any length of time, Polaris reccomends to use low range. This is becuase at that speed you are very close to the engagement / disengagement of the primary. And that will cause plenty of heat / wear / and belt slippage. Spending enough time on the machine will probably teach you when you want low and when you want high. There are times when I can use high range to climb a really steep hill, but it just makes more sense to use low in those situations. When in doubt use low and if you easily max out the speed / rpms in low, then you know high would be a better choice (and vice versa)
