Default sealant for 2 stroke crank case?

I noticed that it had a gray sealant when dis assembling. I have some dow corning 3145 gray and after contacting dow corning rep. they said "not recomended" I've been told to use "high temp red" but it says right on it not to use when part is in contact with gasoline. What should I use? What have you all used?
Thanks.

High temp. RVT or Ultra Blue. It'll do the job better than anything else. I just put the front diff. cover back on my pick up with it. Find it at an auto parts place. Cheap too.

Ok, but the diff. doesn't come in contact w/ gasoline. Have you tried it on a 2 stroke crank case? Will it hold up to the fuel?

The most common is a product called 3 BOND fron 3m...It is available at Yamaha dealers called YAMABOND(same stuff.I've used it for years, and so do many performance shops. Another common one is a locktite product that is like a purple goo that does not completely dry (loctite 515 ,i beleive)

The ThreeBond is your best bet, it's what it is designed for.

Polaris uses either 3 bond those guys mentioned or you can use Loctite Grey (##??)- get it a auto store, same thing pretty much, we use both in our shop.

Yamahabond. I know it hurts to put it on all the polaris motors I rebuild but the stuff is tough. At least Yamaha got there name put on something worth while. Jay

Yamabond Is a good sealer and works well. I have also used a sealer called GASGACINCH It has never failed me either and comes apart alot easier next time.
