You can get the additional protection you need for the Sportsman at any Polaris dealer it is called a winch hehehe...but seriously the guard that is on it is pretty good I do a lot of stick rideing before I put my winch on with no trouble from the radiator being punctured...

We do some occasional brush bustin’ in the thick stuff and find the Polaris radiators to be extremely well protected. My dealer once told me that the radiators are more vulnerable from the rear than the front and that most punctures they see are from people backing up in the “sticks.” I’ve always kept that in mind the VERY few times I’ve used reverse when riding

The new dennis Kirk Magazine finally came out with
something. The only problem I can see with the new
mud gard which offers additional protection for the rad. is that, by looking at the picture, I dont see how you can have a winch in the front. Im
not sure about that though. The picture is not that good.

To me the worry about the rad. is at the very bottom. There is no real guard and a good bang on the bottom of the rad is what puts the sensor out of order. I also found out that I was ripping up the wires under there as I like you am in the deep
woods sometimes. By this time of year the grass is
tall and you cannot see large rocks and stumps any more and we bump them. I dont want to stay out of the woods. Thats what I bought an atv for. As I look at all the other brands, they seem to have good lower front protection, but not polaris. Polaris does have excellent undercarriage protection for the engine and what ever drive assembly your atv has. If you never drive in this kind of stuff then you wont have trouble but if I hear you right, you will.

ps: I have a warn. 2000lb. winch and 2-bar front bumper. It is not enough!

Default radiator guard for sportsman

Check out www.onlyatv.com they make a front bash guard, which i've ordered. Its made by ProArmor. They messed up my order and sent me one for a predator, So i'm waiting for them to send me the right one. The one for the predator looks CRAZY strong. So i cant wait until the one for the Sportsman 600 comes.
