I tried to install my hpd pipe today but couldn't because it would hit the frame and I didn't have enough room. It liked about a inch to fitting on the manifold. I think I may have the pipe for the sport. Also It would not clear the pull start handle or the shift bar. I will not know if this is the right pipe or not until tuesday what do you think>?

Will,

It sounds like you have the pipe for the 400 motor. Just ship it back and ask for the 250 pipe.

I have the HPD pipe on my 99tb and it fits really good. Doesn't hit the frame at all anywhere except for the spacer at the first bend and thats only with the spring fastened up. The only place mine is close is by the right side of the head and plastic heat shield.

The HPD pipe fits around the frame just like the stock pipe.
