DS vs Predator - SAFTY!
Howdy boys and girls.
I'll post this message at both comapnies forums, hopfully to get honest answer.
What ATV is more safety?
I'm 16 years old, was riding a QUEST500 for around a year, talked with dad and decided to replace the quest in sport atv.
Now, my options are pretty much DS or Predator, what ATV is more safety to your opion.
since my dad was like "We will buy an atv, tho i need to check what atv is the safer"
I told him it's mostly the driver,
tho since I'm pretty much amautre, first time I'll ride sport atv.
What atv between those two will you suggest?
Thanks!

DS vs Predator - SAFTY!
Saftey wise it all comes down to the rider. The machine is only as safe as the person operating it is responsible. Now choosing which one is better for YOU will depend on what you plan to do with it. Dunes/open riding areas = go with the DS. For most everything else I'd say go with the Pred. Now I have no personal experience, so my knowledge is only from what magazines, and others have told me on this forum so I would say to take my advise with a grain of salt. I have heard that the DS is a very stable platform, but also the widest/longest wheel base of the production atvs available. This is a good thing till it comes to riding in tight areas. In my opinion I think the pred is good everywhere I have had the chance to ride it. Remember, the machine will only go as fast as you press the accelerator... I think they should crash test ATV's
In today test we will crash the Raptor the DS and the Pred into a tree at 60mph with our interns driving them.
Who ever lives gets to come on full time.
Like everyone else said ATV safty is all about the driver.
I guess the power of the motor and being able to control it comes in but that still is upto the driver to control.

DS vs Predator - SAFTY!
I've got a Scrambler 4x4, and I rode a DS this last Sunday and allthough it is (wider and longer) it felt like it had a higher center of gravity and I didn't feel that it was easy to control, had low handle bars and the seat was high. The machine had good power until about 4th but just felt odd. Maybe you would get use to it? And yes it is heavy, had to get wife unburried from sand a couple times. I really like how mine handles I just wish it were about 250 pounds lighter. I would definately ride the Predator and Ds before making a decision. If you dont feel comfortable and in control then you probably wont be very safe, you have to have some confidence when riding or operating and machinery, especially when they go 70mph.
good luck.
good luck.
