Default air box

What is the difference between running no air box lid and using a hpd air box? Which is the better way? This is my frist question hope it does'nt sound dumb.

they both give you more flow, i dont know that much stuf about HPD products sorry

personally i would run no airbox lid, if you ride in dry and not very dirty or dusty conditions, because it will cost nothing, other than having to rejet. JMO

If you ride a 4 stroke from Polaris there is a very good chance it has a vacuum operated slide. You should not remove the air box lid or modify it. HPD's lid comes with a kit to recalibrate the slide for the loss in vacuum.

yes i have a polaris 04 scrambler 4x4 and most of my riding is dusty and go i through some ponds

You have to recailbrate the carb for the more airflow, not just bump up the main jet. The HPD kit comes with everything you need. You can actually hurt performance by running without a lid because like Fishslab, the scram has a CV carb which requires a vaccum to open the slide. And by removing the lid, you reduce the vaccum. If you ride in dusty conditions, and have the HPD kit, make sure you are using an outerwears or prefilter on your airfiler. It will help keep it cleaner longer, cuz it does get more dust in the airbox as well as more air
