With 130cc advantage over a stock bore engine I would hope you would win. You raced one with a cdi, high comp piston, and cam. You call that "heavily modded" after all thats been done to your bike? A yfz isnt heavily modded until its a 470. I'll bet that race would be a much more interesting story.

 

Maddogg, if you would reread the post you would see I said exactly whay you said. No thought a
properly built 470 would be faster. The yfz is a great mx racer, but it's not a drag strip machine.

 

Oh yea, Maddog I still run factory stock cams, and a factory CDI.

 

maybe my pred is messed up.. along with 2 others that i know off... wow... us mainers got the shaft with a bunch of crappy predators!

 

All the other ones are rockets!

 

You can get plenty of hp out of the pred and it will def compete with the other 2 machines if not be better and perform better also.

You can easily get the power to waste both those junks....

LOL Superballs...I don't know exactly why so many people think the YFZ is so much faster than a Predator. I raced against 2 YFZ's and 3 DS650 in a 300ft drag with a radar speed trap at the end. Several runs. I hit 49mph (top) getting into 4th gear (stock gearing), 1 DS hit 48 (top, lower gearing) and 1 DS hit 47 (top). The YFZ's couldn't brake 46mph. If they are so great out of the hole, what's up with those numbers? Not hammering on the YFZ, but I'm more interested in the TRX450R, haven't gotten the pleasure of running against one yet.

 

Thats an awfully elaborate bore job you have on your machine to not replace other performance parts.
