My buddy mike has a 2001 sportsman, and it will do about 58 mph i was quite suprised how fast it will go, now how come the new 400 sportsmen will only do about 50 mph. thats got me because my suzuki 250 can push 50 mph i have had it going 53 on gps down the road.

 

some of the older models were made with bigger engines like my 1989 kawasaki 90 dirtbike will out run my friends 04 kawasaki 90

 

yeah man but these 2 atvs both run on 425 cc engines. same trannys that i know of. its only a 3 year difference and mikes 400 just plain kills adams 400 i dont get it.

 

500 HO that is a very good question, but it seems to go with anything, my dad and i both have the same exact truck both gmc 2500hd's and i mean exact same gears same motor same tranny same everything except tires, but there all 8 ply.....and his truck is an 02 mines and 03, his will kill mine i mean whoop up on it.....now my other buddy has the new quardra steer that will kill his dad chevy 2500 hd, and mine will kill both of them......and they are all with in a year in age..

same way with my sled....my buddy and i both bought polaris 97 excr's both triples identical sleds....and i absoulutey beat m outta the whole and can pull a away not by much tho maybe a half a sled length then once we start gettin towards top end were pretty much even.....

Iv'e always said it dosnt matter what you bought chevy dodge ford,,polaris yamaha articat ,etc...... it seems to be when it was built...mean was it built on a monday after a long weekend.....or in the middle of the week when everyone was happy or friday when everyone wanted to get out of work......

It seems to be the only explanation i can come up with for me anyway....

I figure that really is how it goes. Is not a way to tell when your bike was built, say a VIN number serial number or something like that. Something that can tell you the exact date your bike was manufactured? Just wondering.
