Thos numbers are holes located in the helix and the clutch where the spring ends go in. By changing where the sprin goes, you change the tension of the spring. I have an HPD violet secondary spring in mine set on the 2-2 postion and like that setup. I am not sure what position the stock spring is in, but setting it to the 2-2 position would probably help some, but a new spring would be more noticeable. Also, you wind the movable clutch sheave 1/3 turn counterclockwise before pusing the helix all the way into the splines on the clutch.

Your secondary settings affect your back shift and your belt effitioncy. The more tension on the spring the more on the belt(effects topend)But some times more pres is good like for trial ridding and hills.Where topend isnt that importaant.
