does anyone know if a stock banshee silencer will hurt the performance on my 95 scrammy 400 i am gonna put it on because mine is so loud (aftermarket not sure what brand) and i dont really have the cash for a new one right now

 

Can't say for sure, but it's primarily the pipe that affects a 2-stroke. The silencer isn't nearly as big a part of the equation as the people who sell them would like you to believe. Try it and see.

 

I put a hpd pipe on my 250 and the silencer they sent was way to loud. So i put a stock 400 silencer on it and I was also worried about power...Well I got better low and mid Power same topend . lots quiter
So give it a try it helped me haveing more backpressure.

It shouldn't hurt it. Yes a 2 stroke is dependent on back pressure. When I was out last weekend my exhaust manifold bolts broke off on my 400. I had to ride it 8 miles with no exhaust. It barely had enough power to pull itself.

 

ok i put this thing on and it is so quiet now the only problem i have is that i dont think it has as good of bottom end and that it has hurt my throttle response do i need to rejet or take this thing off

 

i rember reading some where that if a silencer has a big exhaust hole it has more top end and if it has a small hole it has more bottom end..............
