New TB 330,dead battery, dealer finally gave in!

Bought a 03 leftover.
Went to ride yesterday, turn the key, nothing.
Pull starts right up.
I pulled the battery and charged it overnight (2amp/10hrs), put it back in, nothing.
It will click a relay, but won't engage the starter, or power the lights.
It reads 12.38V.
Any clues from the experts?
I called the dealer, they said it a wear item, and not covered!

Your battery is done dude! If those maintenance free batteries sit for more than 3 months without being charged they are shot. Take it back to the dealer if it's under warranty and get a new one, they should cover it.

Did you check your wiring connections? maybe there's a bad wire with a high resistance in there stopping up the flow of current? Have you tried your battery on any other 12V load that's not on the bike? That's a sure test there.

I've only had it a month!
I'm going to swap out the battery from my 220, and see it it works.
I called Polaris consumer affairs, and they said its up to the dealer, but that the dealer "should" take care of it.
I called the dealer again, and threatened to do a chargeback on my credit card for the value of the battery.
He's going to talk to the owner.

I did a load test on the battery, and the voltage drops to 7v when I turn the key.
I swapped it out with the battery from my 220, and it started right up, so the thing is junk.

Jump on that dealers A$$!!! Don't alow that guy to jerk you around, A warrenty is front to back for the first 6 months and he needs to make it right and not jerk you around!! If he still gives you a hard time then ask to borrow his phone and call Polaris right there and then and see if that helps!!

I called them again today, and they finally gave in and will replace the battery.
I can't believe the hard time they were giving me over a lousy battery!
Thanks for all the replys.

An easy way I found to test battery's, either in cars or cycles is to turn on the headlight and try the starter, if the headlight goes almost out then either the battery is badly drained and in need of charging or it needs to be replaced.
