My freind has a 00 325 mag & He wants it to go
faster. So he went to the local dealer for sugestions. They told him that older guys with
grey hair like Him [he is 48 with some grey hair]
where the only one buying them. They told him
that they called that bike THE SLUG.Also that
after these older guys rode them awhile
they wanted more speed. My freind was madder than
a wet hornet. So if you own a 325 mag in cin dont
go to the west side of the city for any speed help.

RCR makes a 414 kit for the Trailboss 325. Maybe this kit would apply to the magnum. I am guessing they are the same engine. My Trailboss goes pretty good with the 325. However, with the Magnum having a shaft instead of a chain and an extra 120 pounds, I bet it is a slug. Maybe Rick at www.rittercycle.com can help.

Ha, ha, ha, The Slug, I like it.
I own one and can attest to the lead sleds slowness.
I've been thinking of getting rid of it. Maybe Rick can come up with something before I do to change my mind.
Although it is slow and heavy, I have to say that I have never had a problem with this 325 mag 4x4. It's been a good bike.

I told my freind not to worry about it going fast
because where we ride is very hilly, heavily
wooded area & we very seldom get going over 20mph
anyway.It is kinda funny though,THE slug I'm
still laughing.

Is the Xplorer 250 faster than the Magnum 325?

I test drove one of these "slug"s. Very aptly named!! Was not at all happy with it. But, if you just want to ride in the woods.......it should be fine for most. But this fat grey haired guy likes to be in front.

I have a Slug - the Magnum 325 2x4 - and I'm very happy with it. It's fast enough for me, and it can even play in the sand! http://ip.pt/~ip001307/Playing_01.html

I use 98 octane gas (equivalent to about 91 octane in the US), I don't know if this makes any difference. What I sometimes miss is the 4x4, but if I plan ahead of obstacles, I can accomplish them.

I think in off-roading in general, the first most important thing is the experience and skill of the rider/driver. Second, the tire size and pattern. And only third the vehicle (ATV/4x4).

That's why I try do develop my skill, adding to my experience. And I can say that I use much more of the potencial of my Slug than I would from a better/faster quad.

When I have some free time, I'll try to create a Slug decal for my bike - perhaps we should create an Internet Slug club?

Cheers!

I bought a expl 250 for the wife.Yes it will
outrun the 325.IT will take off faster and just
keeps going. We were suprized of this,we just thought sence you have more cc's that it is
faster WRONG.Don't get me wrong it is a good
bike for trail riding it is just kinda sluggish.

Good Luck
