00 sp quitting
#1
I'm trying to get some info. for a friend who is a manager of a Polaris dealership. His new yellow SP quits sometimes when you give it the gas. It did it on me once, just quit. It was not out of gas and started after a few tries. He is worried it will do this on a hill. It also seems to be slipping, (the belt) or not engaging sometimes. He is very displeased w/it and is already wanting to trade for a 00 Kodiak or a Honda product without the boss knowing. It quit twice yesterday on a 30 mile ride. Any one heard of this as the bike is still under warranty. On a brighter note, that bike is excellent in the mud.

arent the mechnaics at his dealership worthy enough to answer and even take care of the problems? isnt it under warranty? sounds like it might have some gunk in the carb or try running it on reserve ive heard people on here say they have found some of the lines hooked up on the valve incorrectly

Two things:
1. All of the problems that you refered to are just that, problems. He should take it back into his dealership and get it fixed under the warranty. He should be the one to know that. If the problems continue, he should contact the Polaris rep and get to the bottom of this. Doing nothing does not help the problem at all.
2. While he may think a Yamaha or Honda are better (that is not the point here), if selling Polaris's is paying his salary, he should not be sneaking off to buy another brand. The more he rides them and understands them, the better off he will be in managing this dealership.

It's a new dealership. The mechanic just got back from Polaris school but he's a good mechanic. I'm sure they'll try to find the problem. I was seeing if there was any useful insight or if a common problem. It's obvious that he'll check with the mechanic. Thanks for those of you with the useful info.
