Sport 400 probs......
Hey guys what's going on? Any good riding going on? Well let's see I took the sport out today and when I turned the key and pushed over the start run button, to start it nothing happened? It seemed as if there was no power or current running throught the bike. It started when I tried to pull start it and ran fine, as the night grew darker I tried to turn the light on but when I did it seemed as if it burnt out. From prior experience I know that when a battery goes bad the lights blow as well is this the case of a bad battery or could there be something else wrong? By the way I have never had any problems or any sign of anything going wrong or going out. Thanks.......

That has happened to me before. I didn't know what happend. All I know is that my batterey was dead and my lights worked for a bit then they were dead, all of them. I replace the lights and it happend again, then read that this could happen if you take the battery out. well I suppose if you had a bad cell in the battery, it would be like not haveing a battery. I should have replace the battery first, but the lights were more important to me than electric start. I took the lights off, and plan on eliminating the electric start, LOL!!! Kill two birds with both my stones, LOL!!! One problem, ,,, ,, , my tail light...

Yes a battery will do this, I've had it happen twice on my Scrambler. I think vibration damages the battery, line the frame box with foam so the battery is insulated from the vibration. Get a new battery before you ride it, the system voltage gets about double normal. That is why the bulbs blow and I would be concerned about the cdi being damaged if you ride it like that.

i just took the battery off mine and left the wires i need for cdi and coil to get spark, but if you do that you have to take all the lights off if not they will burn out i had to take all the lights off of my 400sport, or get a battery elimanator and you can keep the lights
