K&N or UNI Filter???
#3
I have them both but the foam oil filter for the UNI feel's to sticky it looks like it would clog sooner or that would be a good thing because it would catch everything.....just curious thanks for the info

K&N are good for everything but dust/fine dirt. In that instance a foam filter is better at blocking dust, and resists water better. K&N's are VERY popular with dune riders, are very easy to clean, and with an outerwear you have better resistance to water. Foam is a better all around filter(in my opinion), but it is more of a pain to clean/oil. Basically choose your poison. try a search under k&n or uni there is aton of posts on these two filters ,almost to many to try and make a decision on which one to get,but I would say that most riders seem to like the K&n so that is the one I purchased ,I had one on my 2000 400 xplorer twostroke and I noticed a difference in power (was a little faster on top end),on my new 04.5 500HO no difference.

k&n lets more air into the carb but uni filters better. i took the k&n out of my truck it. the tube frome the air filter to the moter had dust in it so i switched to a amsoil and it is a very nice filter. to bad they dont make them yet for the pred.
