Welcome to the wonderful world of short lived brakes on Polaris'!! I have a '00 Mag 500, the front brakes are gone at 250 miles. Lots of you have the same trouble. The QUESTION is...does Polaris cover replacement during Factory Warranty??

what kind of riding do you do? I have 1000 miles on my SP and brakes work as good as new. They might do something for you it totally depends on your dealer and how decent they are. Like people day in here the warranty is only as good as the dealer.

My riding is varied, I'd say I'm a moderate rider. We get into the water and some mud on most outings. There aren't any looong downhill stretches around here, so the brakes aren't burned out that way. Scroll down on the Polaris page and checkout DaBoss' post, his brakes went to s__t in 60-some miles!!
thanks for the response, Jim V
......by the way, how do you use your machine??

No other probs here except it keeps getting dirty!! *LOL*

I ask because someone up here bought a 425 Expedition and had to have new brakes at 28 miles!! and again at 96! he had some custom pads made out of car pads. I am going to find out were he did it, and pass it along , I guess he has put allot of miles on with no troubles.

Mine riding is a varied also, depends on my mood, i would say 30% mud riding, the rest twisty rooty trails and dirt roads.

i would have to say with the amount of people i see on here with excessive break wear problems that they must be putting some cheap pads in at the factory not like the severe duties..mine went at about 65 hours and i put the severe duties in,hope they last a little longer..oh yeah my tie rods are toast too

Man I feel great about my brakes now hehehe they are going on 900 miles but are going to have to be changed soon. My dealer has ordered me some new ebc pads and hasn't said one way or the other if he is going to help out with the expenses...but he has really been so good I think he will, I would like to know more about the person who had the idea about the car pads, seems this wouldn't be that hard to do, just measure them to the size and epoxy them on, I would like to hear more about this.

I had my brakes done with about 25 hrs on my scrambler and Polaris covered it. My riding partner also had his replaced by Polaris. The only thing is they put the same junk pads back on.

My dealer will replace my origional pads under warranty one time. They replace them with severe duty pads. If you stay out of the mud, your pads will last. You have to pay to play.
