Default predator airbox

I know this question has been posted before. My question is what is everyone doing about the spot on the top of the airbox lid that is wearing through, due to the hook on the seat. Is there a fix for this? Or is polaris taking concern of the problem?
I thought of cutting a 2x2 peice of aluminum sheet metal and glueing it to the spot on the airbox lid then it would be a lot harder for the hook to wear through.
Any help or suggestion on this issue would be helpful. Thanks

I think most of us have just cut it off. Polaris may or may not give u another airbox lid...depends on your dealership. But if you trim it down a little it'll work.

Hit the top of the air box lid with a heat gun till the plastic gets soft and just press it in 1/4" - 1/2"or so.........you can also file down the seat latch clip a bit if you don't want to heat up the airbox lid........

I glued a square of aluminum to mine and heated it up and pressed it in past flush... Eventually the tab for the tool kit broke off... then I got the LTE exhaust and all those issues went away...

I ended up cutting my tab off of my seat 'cause I did not want to have the hole in my airbox. I found that my toolkit fits very niceley behind the airbox (between the airbox and rear fenders). Put the seat back on and good to go. Toolkit has always stayed in place so far. Take a look see and find out for yourself. It's almost like that spot was made to house the toolkit. If you don't understand where I mean, I could maybe get a picture posted soon. Hope this helps.

I like my LTE's... especially with the quick reving cdi... it just pulls and pulls... The dealer got my cdi from the Polaris Racing side of the house... hard limits at 9200 rpm rather than a soft limit at 8600 (I think that's the rpm for the soft limit)... anyway it's a nice set-up.

If I were just doing the exhaust only... I'd just go with a slip-on.

It took some time to get them quiet enough to go to the oregon dunes... I fabbed up some quiet cores... They come off when other places though...
