Default Trailblazer gearing question

We have the HPD pipe and clutch kit for my wifes TB250 and it is a big improvement in the sand. My question is if I regear it lower with a either a smaller front sprocket or a larger rear sproket will the clutch make up for the lower gearing by shifting up sooner?

Also I am tring to decide on what sand tire to run, like 7 or 8 paddles, also tring to decide on 22 inch or 20 inch tires. That brings me back to the first question about gearing, will the clutch just upshift faster for the smaller tires or will I gain more torque for the hills?

Thanks for all opionions,

As for gearing, You should shift out quicker because you will be gaining RPM quicker.

You will loose some top speed, but it will help you climb some of the bigger hills by keeping the RPMs up.

As for the paddle tires I found that the 7 paddle Hauler worked best for me w/ .125 douglas wheel (keep that un-sprung weight to a minimum). I also geared down to 42 tooth rear sprocket (Stock 38).
You will need to buy a longer chain.

Thanks BUBASCRAMBLER,
It makes sense now that I hear it from someone. Sprocket gearing has to make some difference along with the auto gearing (clutch).

One more question, are you running 22 inch or 20 inch haulers? I run skat-trak extremes and douglas .125 rims on my Z400, they are just a hauler with stronger paddles. So I would like the haulers for the tb250.

I am running 22-11-10 standard skat trak haulers.

I found the 22 worked well, they seem to have better floatation.
These polaris auto machines are grossly over weight and need all the help they can get.
