Ther is a clanking noise coming from my scrambler I think its coming from a area under my seat but more towards the rear. The hear the noise about every 3 to 4 seconds like its spaced out. sometimes I wont hear it for a hole ride but it keeps coming back. its also pretty loud. If any one Knows or has an idea about what this could be id really appreciate it.

Does it only happen when in/after riding in mud or sand? It could be debris getting crushed between the sprocket and chain.

Also could be the rear axle bearings going out, or just loose.

maybe the front sprocket or chain? My 99 sc500 started making a poping, grinding clanking noise, and I inspected the chain and the rollers on the pins were split open and coming apart. I replaced the chain and both spockets and it fixed the problem.

No rear differential on a Polaris Scrambler. You must be thinking of Sportsman.

I've encountered a simuliar noise on my Xplorer. It was coming from gravel packed into the lower chain guard, you might want to take it off and look. the gravel was causing the chain plates to be grabed by the guard.

I took my lower chain guard off months ago no problems yet.
I think that it wears the pins on the chain.

Check your chain-- i had a klunking noise coming from same area and finally relized it was the chain. It had become dry and one section of it was sticking every time it rotated over the top of the rear sprocket. Put some PJ1 on and all was fine. 00 Scrambler 500
