make sure u put that clip on right, so the open end faces forward when its on teh top side of the swing arm, cuz if u put it on the other way the open end will face forward when its underneath the swingarm and something can get inside that clip and pop it off.

 

loosen the bolts all the way,,,,,it will break loose

Be careful patching in chain on a scrambler........your likely to end up with a cracked tranny if you arent careful

take all the adjustment out of the chain,,,,it will fit

 

you loosened the 2 carrier bolts and the 2 brake caliper bracket bolts?its should move easily with them all loose,like bing said loosen them all the way and try again.your 76 links should fit perfect..

 

hey 420 does that polaris sled of yours have anymods. i want a sled so bad. they go so fast i love to acclerate. screw top speed i just wanna get there fast and if i happen to keep pullin hard to 120 then thats fine with me. whats it like to ride a sled at 120?

 

Oh man guys...I'm about to go nuts....I can't get this thing on for anything....

I loosened the two back bolts and I loosened both caliper bolts...almost untill they were completely off....then in the manual it says to insert a metal pin like a punch to lock the sprocket in with the rear axle housing...first of all I couldn't find any hole to lock the sprocket with...I stuck a punch through the sprocket hole and whent all around the axle house and couldn't find another hole in the axle house to lock them together....so I'm lost on that...I just know if I could adjust it all the way in then I should have this new chain conquered..but for now I'm still screwed.

 

there are little holes on it that u can see. put the pin through one of about 3 and spin the back tires in the air or push it on the ground holding the pin straight it will find anohter hole thats on the carrier which u cant see. once that catches roll it forward and the chain will tighten or loosen. its really simple!!!! i do it in about 10 minutes

 

quadracer,the hole in the carrier should be lined up with the grease zirk..

mudmaster,the sled is a stock 03 polaris sks 700,ive had it up to 118 on the speedo.probably 105-110 realistically.the reason i cant go any faster is because i have a 144" track for deep powder riding and hill climbing.its such a rush to be riding at 100mph and it only takes a few seconds to reach that speed..
id much rather have snow on the ground right now and be riding the sled instead of the quad..

 

WOOHOO!!! I got it!!! you guys were right...I found the other hole and got the new chain on her...Thanks guys....you guys once again saved my day!!!

Did you long track your sled?? I ride a 99 XC700 with a 141 for the same reason! I have a coupe of decent pics of one of our sled trips to the Sierra Nevada Mountains where we ride. My brother rides an 03 RMK 800, That thing is a climbing monster!!!
