Default question?

I was out cleaning my 4 wheeler a few days ago and I was thinking. Sometimes when my chain gets all dirty and gunked up with chain lube and i clean it really good and go for a drive it has some more power. Which makes sense because there is less to turn, so if I was to take off my rear sprocket guard would I gain any more power?

Default question?

that sprocket guard weighs at least 5lbs,the less weight spinning the more power to the ground you will have, but i dont think it would be worth taking the chance of ruining the sprocket.

Default question?

I had a buddy machine me a 5/16 thick aluminum one to replace that heavy stock unit. Still protects the sprocket, but much lighter. I wouldnt want to take the risk of busting a chain or bending a sprocket. One rock and you might be walking.
