EBS or Engine Braking System gives you engine compression (engine braking) as soon as you let off the throtle. I never drove one with it but i heard bout it. It's not like a complete stop as soon as you let off, but it's kinda like driving a geard machine. You really dont need it on the lighter quads or the sport quads, but it's ideal for the Magnums and the Sportmans since they are 700lb. machines. I means if your riding in a hilly area, and no ebs, you'll wear your brakes down alot quicker.

ok so I hear EBS is on the 99 sport 400L. Can I take it off with out hurting my machine?

What does it consist of? Is it heavy, because saving weight is always a bonus!!

Beside braking it doesn't take away from torque or speed does it?

Thanks snapcase

It doesn't come with the 400l. Only the bigger Utility quads have it. Unless it was put on as an option...
