Default sp 600 problems....again !!!!!

Hi everyone this is my first post so here goes....

I've had a sportsman 600 for about a year and a half now and all I've had is problems. First out of nowhere 3 rear a-arm bolts snapped after about 3 months..luckily it was under warranty. Then about 4 months ago my front differential completely blew apart and was destroyed....an $1100 repair!!!... I'm only 17, so thats a lot of money. When I work my butt off and spent $7000 on a quad I expect it to be reliable.

Well anyway, right now my problem is something electrical...the 4x4 switch wouldn't work.. when i switched it into 2x4 the light stayed on so I took the switch apart and messed around with it. I touched a screwdriver across the 3 terminals under the switch, it sparked and the light went out and it wouldnt go back on. Consequently, the quad only stays in 2 wheel drive.. Could someone please reply because i can't find a fuse to change...is it something more serious and/or costly? Any help would be appreciated..Thanks !!!!

There is a breaker under the front hood in a plastic pouch. It is the one with 3 wires coming out of it. Replace that breaker with one from a auto parts store and reseal it up. I think if I remember right it is a 10 amp breaker but it will say right on it what value it is. As for as shorting out the switch I guess you will have to see if you did any damage to the switch after you replace the breaker. Did your speedo go out as well or does it still work? That is most likely the problem with your 4X4. It is hard to say for sure because I am not there but the breaker is cheap and easy to replace so might as well eliminate that as a problem. If you find water in the pouch when you break it open then that will be a sure sign that was the problem.
