NO top end

Default NO top end

ok guys i ran my polaris 500 in mud all day a good 3 hours ran fine brought it home and raced a suzuki vinson blew him out of the hole and he beat me in the top end i was doing about 60 and he passed me. turned around and pinned it back doin aobut 60 again went home and left it sit for a while then after a good 10 minutes passed a started it back up canned on it and let some rocks fly off the shed took it down the road and my motor was really loud i looked down and it waws revving up around 6600 but i was only going 40 but the thing takes off just like it used to. sometimes if im goin 40 and can on my atv it wont do anything.

it still takes off like it used to but the top end is gone what do you guys thing the problem could be i wanna know your opinions before i take it apart so i knwo what to look for.

thought it sounded as if it was runing hot? belt was a quick fix.

i dont think it was running to hot, the fan wasnt on and that runs frequently when i ride hard. i even let it cool off before it started acting up
