So would anything under 8 lbs cause the belt to go into the secondary too soon causing it to burn?? Mine had a new belt last week, and after a dozen or so runs. It had som fibers hanging off of one sides, and my clutches are on the spot. Plus when my buddy was loadin it on the trailer I cud smell it a little.

Biggest thing is to make sure you aren't loading thew clutches too much on take off. With the high stall (5200-5300) I could hold it just at the point where the belt would just grab and hammer it from there. That way you dont get a lot of belt heat. Whitedog, your tach has to be off a little to show your running 8000 with the violet and 55's. I would think you shouldnt be over 7600-7700. With the violet and 10-56's I ran at 7600 on alky and about 7400-7500 on gas. I also think you should try a different tire on the rear. I run the Dunlop radials like what come on the Raptor at about 1.5 to 2lb of air for dirt type or mix conditions. You cant get a better hooking tire than that. They will really bite hard. The later sport or scrammys tend to wheelie real easy, so tires may be your problem. Just dont run them on the asphalt or concrete or you'll eat them up in a hurry. One of the reasons we get hammered out of the hole is because the clutch bikes can drop the hammer and dump the clutch and create a lot of wheel spin. If you get the right tire then you can launch it the way you need to. By the way, you need the clutch tuning handbook if you dont have it.Bubba
