Could anyone tell me anything about it? I know were there is one for sale, I haven't gone to look at it yet, but I was concidering it for my wife and kids. I've never seen one, and no nothing about them. They were 250cc, is that 2 stroke or 4? were they a good machine? Thanks

BLH,
They were a first attempt for Polaris at a "sport" machine. They had a 34mm Mikuni carb and a pipe with expansion chamber (unlike the Trailblazer which has a 30mm carb and No expansion chamber). From what I've read they were pretty fast for that time, but I guess that Polaris didn't sell many of them. Thus they were limited to only one model year (1987). You also have to remember that "back in those days" you could get a LT 250R, TRX 250R,a Tecate 250 or a Banshee for a sport machine.

no read valves just a piston port
i used to have 2. i sold mine and got a blaster but my dad still has his modded one. its got a big bore kit, pro-5 bipe, 38mm carb, uni-airfilter, custom clutch kit different gearing, etc, etc. they are really durable machines. i never had a problem with them. stock from the factory they have pretty aggressive clutching and the clutches engage a good 500-1000 rpm over anuy other polaris i have driven. if its in good shape then jump on it but if itds an old beat lookin thing i wouldnt even waist my money due to some of the parts are discontinued for it and its a pain to find them. if you have any questions about them let me know.

Ok Guys,
I got the cyclone, it looks rough (spray painted plastic many times), but it runns good. It's a 4 wheeler turd04. The only thing it "needs" is brakes steering bushing and shocks. Thanks for your help.
