My firend just bought a z400 and it is all stock. I have Scrambler 400, piped, filtered, and I'm not sure about jets because the guy I bought it from never said anything about them. Well anyways I was going to race him just to see who is faster, and the first night we were at the dunes I rolled and broke my wrist (and it really sucks trying to type like this). I was wandering from experience who do you think would of won? I'm just bored sitting here at home so I thought I'd ask.

 

you shouldnt have had a problem until he hit 5th gear. my 04 scrambler 500 stock,can keep up with my friends 04 z400 until he is almost in 4th.

 

he will probably win by a small amount

with the mods i have on my scrammy i get beat by a piped z400,not sure what the outcome would be if he was stock..

 

It depends on who gets the holeshot. A friend of mine has a piped and jetted Z400. With the mods I have, we are very close. When we race each other at the dunes it all depends on who gets the hole shot. He is running Sand Sharks and I have Skat traks. It's a very close race. Within a couple feet every time. i wouldnt bet the farm on you winning... thats all i can say.
the z's aren't super fast... but niether is a srambler.

 

the scrammy that rides with me every once in awhile is no comp to me, he has no mods and we never straight up drag raced, but usually on the way back to camp or where ever were parked we do an all out WFO last one there serves the beer. He can start out 5 bikes ahead of me and I always end up beating him.
