ATV Television

Last night I watched yesterday's ATV television show. I don't know about anybody else, but this show tends to be full of crap at times. They are attempting to climb this little rock ledge in a creek in MOAB. The Kawasaki Praire goes first. The driver fails to use low range and tries to go up the ledge. He gets the front wheels up over the ledge then stops. Then tries to get the back wheels up with no luck. He tries the same sequence a few more times with no luck. The 500 Sportsman goes second. Same crap. Tries it in high gear and tries to pansy up the ledge. The Honda Rancher goes last. The driver puts it in first gear (ie. low) and drives up the ledge and keeps his momentum and goes right up it (he also had someone holding the front rack, but I doubt he held the front end down much). The driver on the Rancher then stands on the machine jumping around like its the King and the host makes some comment about the all new improved Honda 4wd drive system.
I'm not trying to down the Honda here, so don't get all excited! I think the Ranchers are very good machines. I just think that the Sportsman and the Praire got a bad deal on this little test because the drivers were being idiots. First, low gear should be used on belt drive automatics for slow climbs such as this. Second, they should have let the guy driving the Honda drive up the ledge since he is the only one who knew how to do it.
I generally like this show, but at times I get a little fustrated at it. By the way, this episode will be replayed on Sat. at 3pm eastern.

I agree I watched it once and they even said that Magnum 500 would go further up the snow covered trail but they only showed the Honda doing it, so instead of letting the 500 go the rest of the way( the theme was to go to the top of this mountain that was snow convered, and the Honda would no go any further.) they gave up and turned around. I too was unhappy my girlfriend and I were like ok let the Mag go the rest of the way and give Polaris some praise for having a great 4x4 system.
I think Honda must have sponsered the Episode. Because we all know that an SP and a Praire 4x4 will climb anything a Rancher will.

ATV Television is on The Outdoor Channel. I get it on my Dish Network satelite dish. Cost me $2.00 more a month. The two times that I know that its on are Thursday at 9:30 am Eastern and Saturday at 3:00 pm Eastern. I usually tape the Thursday time. New shows start early in the week and are repeated through the week until Saturday. Check the outdoor channel website at www.theoutdoorchannel.com.

it comes on monday at 4:00 central time here in ok and all i got is cable i like the show but all they do it praise honda the epsode when they tried to climb the mountain in the snow well when they were coming up the first part of the mountain the part with no snow the high lifter foreman barely up this 1 foot tall ledge and the praire and the magnum just hopped right up it like it was no problem they should have had the praire and the magnum go on up and left the foreman's at the bottom. and they diden't even use the winch on the high lifer foreman these guys are stupid and can't ride worth crap.
they are too scared they are going to tip over they won't go off of a 1 foot drop with out having some one to hold on to the rack and with out holding in the brakes and sliding all the way down and if they do start to tip over one guy is not going to be able to hold down a 500 pound machine am i right all he will do is fall with it.
