no kidding. Like their 275 hp 5.3L truck motors. My brother raced his friend who has that motor in his Chevy. My brothers truck was a Dodge 5.9L truck. (old school motor & rated at like 245hp in a heavier truck) The Chevy barely won! It's like where is that extra hp in that lighter truck? GM always does that.

Actually, Chevrolet often *under-rates* their power numbers for insurance reasons.
The LS1 in the f-body for example, was rated at 305hp. One of my buds pulled a 12.98@107.6 in the 1/4 with his bone-stock '98 Formula Firebird. 305hp my butt.

12.98 is impressive, but tires, temp, driver etc. all play into that. GM's hp numbers are the most optomistic I've seen. GM always does that. Just like those cams on the gas pedals. Real touchy from idle. Makes people think their car is powerful. GM makes nice dailey driver everday cars. Their HP numbers are inflated though.

OK, you're not hearing me: GM's numbers are almost always *UNDER* rated. This is historically documented fact going right back to the 1960s. My "240hp" four-door, fully loaded bone stock GTP with a suitcase in the back seat ran 14.82@94mph in the dead of summer a few years ago, and it spun half way to the 60' line.

Ya, according to Polaris the power to weight ratio of the 05 Pred is .124, which is better than a Raptor, Z400, etc. If you figure out the numbers, that places you between 50 - 52 HP, using 415llbs for their testing. But that is dry weight, if you take an estimated wet weight, guessing 450 +/- a few lbs, you come out with between 42-45 HP, hitting the .124 ratio. Therefore, it may have 50 HP when it is dry... but who runs a dry quad... nobody. Going by the statistics, between 42-45 HP is what the 2005 Pred is looking at. Hope this helps.

Then open your eyes some more. You don't know me, but I have spent the last 6 years building and racing GM engines. And as you can see, I've taken my own vehicles down the strip.
I've seen probably 100 vehicles do dyno runs during that time.
So, please, get a clue.
