Finally a Predator at the drag's...

I finally saw a predator at the Jackson County fair last night near ripley wv.
He looked to be set up for mx, with hiper wheels, somekind of pipe, razr 2 tires, shocks with rezzies, and all that good stuff. He did do ok in the 0-500 class but couldn't beat yfz's. For some reason he ran the 0-740cc four stroke, and did not fair well against the big bore raptor's and other bikes that roam that class.
He did good in the 0-500cc four stroke when he ran the z400's and 400ex's, but my buddies black yfz le that used to be in my pic's beat him on several occasions through the night.

Cool. The first time I ever saw a predator in person was at the drag/hill climb near the RockHouse trail head of Hatfield Mc-Coy up ya'lls way last year. And that one swept house until he finally got beat out by a UTE with an auto tranny and 4x4. You know just as well as Mike and I do it all comes down to setup and reaction times.... When you have an auto tranny all you have to do is nail the gas.... Not much talent involved there. That fella you saw does sound like he has a Mx setup. I'd be more/less impressed by his times and mph than whether or not he beat out a Yfz though.
Mike tells me you can't wipe that grin off your face these days with that new motor. lol Glad you having a good time.

The motor is coming around. Overall it's very impressive. The Pred was definetly set up for MX as the trailor they hauled it in on was loaded with holeshot tires, and that sorta stuff. It was easy to see what his usual track was. LOL.
But I'm happy with the 686. It's running great. Some tinkering and tuning wouldn't hurt, but we'll see how that goes.
There was a bad accident towards the end of the night where one of the regular's in mine and mike's class wrecked and was hurt. Not sure how bad, but it wasn't good.

I drag race mind! I went as far as making a wheelie bar. Going to go with a 10'' over swing arm and a set of american racers. The 580 kit has so hugh power over stock. This winter I'm going to fully port the head, replace the cams and get a bigger carb. I had no problem beating the yamaha, and ds too!!!
