well... i raced today... first heat went fine... i didnt crash!!!
second heat went great... took 3rd off the line and was right on seconds ***... until the yfz decided it wanted to just... stop...
pushed it to the side and couldnt get the b!tch running... went back to the pits... i had spark and fuel was getting to the carb... but it wouldnt fire... i was very "unhappy" to say the least.

and as of right now it still wont run... and i have no clue why... i just think it has something to do wit the carb...

now you all can laugh at me cause my yamaha died... so have fun laugh it up!!!!!!!!!
but maybe if you got an idea on a few things i should check out you could post those also.

that's a bummer Hozed. Could it be your gas tank is vapor locked (breather hose plugged/pinched)? I don't have a YFZ but would love to have one so I'm not too familiar with them. How's the compression?

sorry to hear that man it aint funny when anything someone worked hard for takes a nose dive wish i had some advice for you....

 

ah hah hah ha.......lol hozed you have a lot of trouble with every quad it seems like. You should have brought the pred, and just pulled in the pits and switched!!!! lol....I would pull the plug, wipe it off, and try cranking it......see if you can see fuel on it, or smell fuel on it. Like they said, try taking the gas cap off, try taking the air box lid off(or just the filter). Try a new plug. Check compression. Double check spark. Sounds to me like if you have spark, then you aren't getting fuel into the chamber.....so maybe something is plugged in the carb, or something is not letting it pump fuel(pinched throttle cable). Hope things go better hozed, better luck next time.

 

BOOO HOOO HAA HAAA! (sike) The same thing happend to me last weekend drag racin! Sitn on the line and the damn thing decides it dosent wanna idle anymore. Or run at all! My top ring was stuck- no compression- schrapnal- rod bearing.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

check the main jet mine stopped and had a full chunk of dirt in it. filter was clean but dirt found its way in. sorry bought getting unhappy.
