anything could happen..one day i was at the quarry i work at,i was jumping a pea stone pile that was there,it was about 20 ft long and a good 10 ft high.i was jumping off one side and landing on the down slope on the other side,i dont know how much air i was getting ,but i was having a blast.stupid me i was putting around the pit without my helmet on,i desided to hit the jump again after doing it atleast 50 times before, well i landed to much on the front wheels and it tossed me over the bars, the machine ran right up over my back then shoulder and my head.i got up and felt pretty good and finished the day riding.the next day at work i could barley move my arm,it sucked especially climbing in and out of the big yuke i drive.i dont know what i did to my shoulder because i never did go to the doc,i was in some serious pain for 3 weeks.i just sucked it up and did what i had to do..

Glad to hear your alright! Hospitals suck but better to get something like that looked at. Sounds like your shoulder poped out and back in....happens to alot of kayakers....best to take it easy for a few weeks and then start getting it back into shape slowly.
Best of luck.

your lucky, it could of been much worse. I've got a friend who got hauled out by helicopter a few weeks ago from the badlands in Indiana. He's going to be ok as well, but he was unconsious and was lucky he was found quiclky.
If he wouldn't of been wearing a helmet it would of been happy trails.....
Be carefull out there, not only for yourself but others as well, we don't want to give those folks who don't like our sport any ammunition.
sorry, let me get off this soap box
