Mud Race
#1
The race was today and not Sat. like I thought. The clutch setup I ran didn't work out very well. I ran a 4.7 sec. for fourth place. The winning time was 4.2 on a kawi 250cc three wheeler. I don't know what second or thrid place ran. For my primary clutch setup I had a brown primary spring and s-55 weights. Secondary was violet spring set at 2-2. The track is 150 ft. long and this time the track was alot wetter then it was the last time I raced there in June. I ran good to about half track and my speed didn't increase after half track to the finish line. It seemed to have plenty of rpms but just wouldn't get out of it's own way. In June when I raced there I had the red/yellow primary spring with 10--58 weights with the same secondary. It ran good to about 2/3 track and then seemed to bog out and drop rpms the rest of the way. I ran faster in June but the condition of the track was different. This time I'm not sure what was happening, but seemed like the revs stayed up but was not shifting out or the belt was slipping. After the race just riding in the field everything seemed fine and worked great just like it did before the race. I think I will put the red/yellow primary spring back in and put in some 10-56 weights the next time I run that mud race. This week I should have my tech installed so that will help out on clutch setup.
