Default Bro just bought 700SP

We were at the MN state fair Sat. and saw this yellow 700SP 04.5 for $5699 with a nice looking aftermarket polaris exhaust on it. I told my brother to jump all over that thing. The dealer actually wanted $200 bucks extra for the exhaust which my brother did not get, I could not convince him to get it w/the exhaust. Was hoping he would buy a Kawi BF, but man for that price I prob. would have bought it if he didn't and I already have a quad! ANyhu, glad he bought it now he will have more fun when we go out riding cause he has been riding his Magnum 325 which is a turd compared to the quads in our group(prairie700, 700SP, Explorer400, 500HOSP) Does anyone know how that exhaust would perform on that 700? Seemed like a good deal for 200 bucks, and it looked awesome. My bro is kinda a tight wad, can't believe he did not get the exhaust. Makes me all the bit more surprised he pulled the trigger like that on buying the 700 which I promptly high-5 him.

sounds like it may have been the pure polaris exhaust which is made by white brothers, I've heard they do make a noticable improvement as does usually any exhaust upgrade. your brother probably should have left the stocker on there for an extra $200. I see them on ebay also for $200 and am not sure but I think if you go to the dealer they run higher than that. if he bought it with the performance exhaust did it also come with the stock pipe.

He brought it home this afternoon with the stock exhaust on it, it is too new looking... needs to get dirty asap
Also, when I drove it around a bit I noticed what sounded like some sort of engagement noise from the tranny. This is when you are at idle and then get on the throttle to take off, I never noticed this on my buddies 700SP or my uncle's 500HO. Is this noise normal because it is new and will go away or maybe the tolerance is a little off on the belt?

Nutsy,

I noticed that noise on my SP600 as well. I am still going through the breakin process and it will be interesting if it goes away. BTW, do you know what the 600 was going for at the fair?

I do not remember seeing the 600 price, but the 500ho was more than the 700, the 500 had a bunch of aftermarket stuff, luggage racks, windshield, camo, etc. The 700 efi they had was not marked off very much.
