Guys,
as you all know im sure..that i had my motor replaced cuz of the crank,,,,,well i didnt have it back a week, and the front dif went out of it,
well we had a big ride planed so i had the dealer overnight the parts, he did, i had it back friday night, well it was all nasty rainy and stuff so we didnt ride at all that weekend...
this past weekend we went out it was nice after a week of rain, and of course hit all the usually mud holes, but most where filled up wiht water, deep water to deep for a non snorkled machine. so we went and found a few that were great mudding....and we crossed deep cricks...seat high ...cuz of all the rain...well we did this for 2 days.
sunday as i was washing her up..cleaning real good...noticed that the vent hose was not on my front dif,,,,,i freakin lost it,,,as i got inspecting it, the clamp was slid about 3 or so inches up the hose, so it looks like either the hose was never put on, or they put it on and never clamped it.
all i did was drive into the shop, and drained it..when i took out the fill plug water immediatly went every where....and then i drained it more and more and more water......so i flushed the front diff using ATF because im not gonna spend 4 dollars per jug for the hub oil just to flush it.....so i flushed with atf (1qt) so it was prolly done 15 times or more.....then i refilled with the oild polaris recomends the front hub fluid..
was i correct in doing this??? should i make the dealer aware of this? or should i keep my mouth shut....ive already had so many problems...im afraid polaris will soon not want to warrenty this.....
i do feel this is my fault because i didnt check the hose, but yet i shouldnt have to double check the dealers work....or should i??
another wards...what do i do???

Sorry to here about that ... but I ALWAYS check the dealers work ... as well as MY work. Everyone remembers to forget something.
At lease you were checking it over after the ride, as I do. I also try to look it over before I get it off the trailer, just to make sure nothing looks out of place. I know some of u will say that someone shouldn't have any problems and should just jump on and ride ... but as a pilot, I know it's the small stuff that we all remember to forget that will kill u ... at lease in atving it just makes for a bad weekend.

Definately make the dealer aware of it. Because if it were to cause a problem in the future, you will have it on record of their neglagence possibly causing the problem

what happened when your front diff went out...mine is stuck in 4x4....im going to try changing the fluid tonight.. speaking of flushing the thing out with ATF... Im wondering if that wouldnt be a good lube for the front diff to use all the time. Im wondering if the lube they are currently recommending isnt to heavy and causing the one way clutch to drag and engage the front wheels.. It seems this problem started the first cold day I rode it...Im not happy with this ATV and my dealer is a bunch of dipshts and have never heard of such problems...they told me they have sold 80 700 efis this year and have only seen 2 fuel pumps go out... mine and one other....then to top it all off I recieved some recall fuel line/ throttle cable issue in the mail today. If I had a lot of time and money I would tear this atv completely apart and rebuild it the way it was suppose to be built. First thing I would do is buy a new solid drive for the front for a sp500 then replace the knuckles and hubs with the older style sp 500 ...that would be a big help right there...

when my front dif went out..it was stuck in 4x4...it would clunk and grind.....and sometimes completly lock up the front wheels....i drained the fluid and added new.....no help....took it to the dealer...and they found the plastic basket inside was completly broke.... and it wouldnt alow it to disengage......they said they have seen it before...on the 500's..
what ive heard is that you can run atf in the front....and i may switch to that after my warrenty is up.....but not until then..because i dont want something to happen have them say well ur not runnin polaris oil.....but i do not see why atf wouldnt work.......

well guys i took it back on friday to get the recall done.......well before i loaded it up on the truck i heard a funny noise...it was a metal on metal rattle with some rubbing...couldnt place it.....or find it..and i ahve heard before and didnt think anything of it....
so anyway...it took the mechanice like 15 minutes or so to do the recall......and i was standing in the shop bsin with all the guys and service manager, and there like well shes all done .....i was like thanks guys...and all the other bs ya know....i was backing it outta the garage...when the salesman that i bought it from said lightem up....i think he was joking ahah but i just spun em a bit in reverse on the black top.......and thats when the raddle raddle got real bad...i was like WTF...got of and looked and there was a big metal spacer with a bolt in it, and the bolt was sheared off.....i was like where did that come from....got looking around...and here it came from the rear suspension...at the bottom..were the a-arms bolt to the hub.....
so another wards i sheard my bolts off in my rear suspension...not just 1 but 3......i just pulled it right back in the shop...and they all asked what was up and i showed em...and there holy **** all u did was back it out the door....i guess u can break anything..and we all laughed...
they fixed it right there for me..about another 20 minutes..ahah...it was pretty neat....
but shes all fixed up...and ready to rock n roll.......ahah...put on 50 miles this weekend...and it was great...
and i did tell the about the front dif....and there like...well theres nothing we can do ab out the vent tube now...and thanks for telling us...and if anything goes wrong with it...well just replace it....i was like cool... they are so decent people down there....
