Default RCR Mods and Speed...

I was out riding with some friends today, I wasn't riding mine obviously, but its getting close. Anyway, they were asking me how fast this thing is going to go when i get it done, I couldnt really tell them, what are your thoughts?

I had Rick trail port it, HPD trail pipe, 39pwk carb, clutch kit with helix, race lightened flywheel, head milled, all the weight I can remove is gone. Assume I run 13-34 gearing with 20 inch tires.

I got all this done but I really dont know what to expect when I ride it.

the 400 should be well into the 70's depending on gearing/tires.

I guess with stock gearing its not gonna go all that much faster. With more horsepower now I should be able to change gearing and still have bottom end, and more speed. Right?

The front end is going to be lighter, not a whole lot, but definatly some.

I am sending the frame to get powdercoated tomorrow or wednesday. I had colors picked, but changed them when it came time to order the powder, we'll see how it looks.

Hey Troyer,

I did the exact same mods you did to a 400 Xplorer, I just finished it about 3 weeks ago. The power is fantasitic! When you hit the power band, be ready to hold on. The only thing that I was surprized about with the mods was the sound of the pipe. I had never heard a piped two stroke before, and was a little surprized by the "tinney" sound of the pipe. I'm more than willing to trade that for the increase in power. If you want to ride mine just to see what to expect, I'm only about an hour from you down in Hodges. You won't be disappointed with you mods.

Take care,

Greg
