Wistech, thanks man. They came off with a little convincing.
Now, the bushings where the arm meets the frame, there are two covers, then a bushing that the bolt goes through, then other bushings that the first bushing goes through. Do I need to take all these out? It seems like I should be able to take the covers off and tape up the rest.
I am thinking about putting in new bushings anyway though, maybe not now. Do I just press the rest of them out?

Honda use sperical bearings in most a arms that usually dont wear out they are held in with 2 snap rings which can be a bear to get out sometimes. I would pry the seals out again carefully. Then clean them up and tape them off with tape on the inside of the seal bore . The bearings cost a lot to replace and always have just a smidge of play which is ok. Replace if they are rusty and loose though.

Special tape ? Its called plain old masking tape. Tell the coaters what you want and they will tape it up for you. They usually clean them up before they coat them anyway. They usually set the baking oven a few degrees lower than the tape will burn at like 430 to 450 degrees. Cost should be around 5 to 15 bucks per part if they are doing them simple colors in a line system with other peoples stuff. Batches of your own stuff usually have a setup charge of 100 to 200 bucks. I try to get as much stuff done at one time with other peoples stuff to keep costs down. I just picked up a set of 6 atv springs today and the guys charged me 5 bucks for all of them. Its nice to have inside connections.
