Default Winters A Comin! How To Prep My Pred?

Well winter is fast approaching and i wanna know if there is anything i'll have to do to run my pred in hte winter. The town where I ride around allows us to drive atv's all winter in town.

Also, i dont wanna spend a lot of money on tires for winter so does anyone have any opinions? I only have about a 1/4 inch of tread left on my razrs, so i dont know if i'll be able to stud em or not. I thought maybe if I put some kinda sealant on the threads of the studs?

MAke sure your coolant is at the right frezzing point for the temps outside. You will probably have to rejet as well. Might even want to think about switching to a different grade oil that provides better cold startup. Probably like a 0W-40

Although they rob a lot of power, you can very easily stud realators.....and they have pretty good traction. As far as prep.....keep the oil changed, so it doesn't draw moisture......keep the battery up, and tires.......make sure you have antifreeze in your coolant(not waterwetter or whatever it is that can't be used in winter)........

Do not forget to grease it up good, hit all the zerks. Do not what any water from summer riding left in there.
Tires, turf tamers are a good cheap tire. Or just run your razrs thu the winter. I would check your battery water level also. Distilled water only, I would also WD-40 allmost every thing else. And the biggest thing to do is keep it in a heated shop.

later

O forget the studs, you do not have any tire left, sealant will not work.

you can stud those tires with 1/4 of tread... you wont need a sealent either... trust me. a ton of us raced on the ice last year w/ no problems...
the pred hates to start when cold... its bad... i had to junp mine w/ my truck almost everytime i rode.
and everything said above...

lol.....no kidding hozed.....pred is very scared of cold.......keep it in a heated shop before you plan to ride, especially if you have some kind of carb mod.

ALL-right than Hozed:
I would like to know the kind of studs u can put in on 1/4" of tire left, no way. But I guess you must have done it. So--What kind of studs are they. Yea RIGHT, 2004 even a low profile coalcutter 5/8 will not work. Ok I'm not wrong.

Hope this helps, some people talk, some have did it.

I BEEN ICE RACING FOR 10 YEARS.
