How many miles can I expect to get on a tank of gas from a 2005 scrambler ?

on our sunday rides, we generally cover 30-40 miles worth of trails. i have yet to even get close to running out of gas in my 02 scrambler 500 4x4.

i guess it really depends on the type of terrain you ride. sand, mud and snow generally eat up the most gas cuz you have alot of wheelspin.

i have never really tried to measure how many miles to the tank i could get. i would like to know as well.

We ride on long rides in Michigan a lot and we've gotten 64 miles when we had to fill up, but there was still gas in the bottom and we hadn't touched the reserve. Your machine is working harder in the winter so expect to use more gas there.

Hey scramblerXrated, what is a Scrambler X 500 HO 4x4? I saw that in a few other people's sigs, but what is the X? Someone else had a Scrambler XLT.

I took my 05 scrambler 500 ho 4x4 on a trip last weekend. We went for about 40 miles before I put more gas in. It was showing on E but it is the gas cap gauge which isn't accurate. I didn't have to put on the reserve so I could have gone farther. I we drove around there and I made it the 40 miles back and the guage was reading over the E this time. We were going fast on well groomed trails, over hills and through a lot of mud so it is probably typical of the gas mileage for the 05 scrambler.

Yeah the gas caps aren't hardly close to accurate. You can still go 25-30 miles on the regular tank (not the reserve) when the gas cap shows E.

in '02, polaris offerd special "X" editions of the scrambler 400 and 500 ho. and i have also seen a sportsman 500 X as well. there may be others. but all were very limited editions.

i do know that the X 500 4x4's are kinda hard to come by. thats why i bought mine, cuz i had never seen one before, and i still have yet to see one. i have seen several 2x4 X editions tho.
