I would like to know where exactly does the water come from that gets into the snorkel, near the spark plug? Does it come from the left wheel, right side of the quad or just through the middle? I already have a home-made water shield near the gas tank reserve sitch on the left side. Maybe I need one more towards the middle.

I am curious, even if it only happened once, because my wife just hits the mud and water at any speed on "our" Xplorer and the last time I tried with the Scram it got wet.

Thanks.

its funny you should bring this up because it happened to me and a buddy of mine. i would ride through a mudhole on my sportsman and he would follow right behide on his 500 scrambler and get a wet belt. we took it to the garage and discovered that his was caused from the clutch cover not being sealed properly.his quad at the time only had about 20 miles on it so it must have happened at the factory. we just cleaned the seal real good and reinstalled it,and no wet belts since.
