As for torque a 4 stroke will always have more torque than a 2 stroke. Off the line the 250 is quicker snappier with around a 5mph faster top speed. 250 is between 50-53mph, 330 45.48mph, pheonix ?. I own both the 330 and a highly moded 250. Since I bought the 330 I hardley ride the 250 anymore. The 330 is way more trail friendly than the 250. The 330 will creep up steep hills, while you have to gun the 250 up the hill. You just cant compare the 2. I do tons of trail riding and the 330 is by far the best of the 3. It gets really great gas mileage, has the racks stock for carrying stuff and it dont overheat. I am very happy with the 330. I have 24" mudlites, 2000lb winch, hand warmers, hand guards, front and rear rack bags, high intensity lights, hitch and some other small things. I have absolutely no problems on the trails. The only thing I regret is not buying the magnum 330 instead. The magnum has some other goodies that are stock that would have made it worth the extra $700 bucks. The magnum has shaft drive, composite front and rear racks, low and high range, mudflaires and speedo w/ tach.

The Tboss top speed is in the upper 40's. I've had the opportunity to ride both the Tblazer and Tboss (own a new Tboss) - I think the Tboss is an all-around better trail quad, but that's just my opinion. I also think the torque is better, but there's no way I could prove it numbers-wise. The 330 is probably the best quad in our group for fun-factor alone (Sp's, Ranchers and Outlanders). It's quick, handles very nicely, can go anywhere the bigger quads go and it is a super-comfortable ride on the trails. Sorry... I have no information on the Phoenix.
This is my very first post on this forum, but I've been reading for quite some time. There's alot of useful information here.

I have a 2003 trail boss and it is a great wheeler for out on the trails , it climbs well and is surprisingly good in wet muddy trail conditions. Out of the three wheelers you have listed it would be my choice.

95sport400, you are right; thanks for catching me. It seems the weight of the Explorer is 556 lbs. That makes it only 95 lbs heavier than the Trailblazer. 2manytoys, your description of a Trailblazer does not sound at all like our two 2004 Trailblazers. We can crawl up the steepest hill pretty much as slow as we want. The only hill I have every taken a running start to get up was dunes. But that was only because if you stop on a steep sand hill, the Trailblazer wil dig a hole. As far as top speed, I have a GPS mounted on a RAM mount and I have never seen a speed faster than about 41 mph. Maybe the engine is not full broken in yet (although I have about 30 hours on my quads), or maybe your Trailblazer is geared much higher than both of mine.

Just picked up a 01 trailblazer a month ago after having a scrambler 4004x4, Its a nice machine for the money pretty snaping for a little 250 top end isnt bad, plus it is a lot better looking than a trail boss. My only complaint is you get realy muddy on these things not much protection from the fenders. It realy isnt that loud either compared to my scrambler. I am going to add some fender flares and ill keep this machine for awhile.
