Default Assembling the motor.

Should I put the whole motor together, then put it in the bike? Its hard to get in there i know. Or, should i bolt in the bottom end, then the cylinder, then the head?

I havent done this before.

Thanks guys.

It is very much so easier to assemble the motor on a table or something similar then put it in the bike. You can reach everything from all angles and torquing the base bolts are easier as well.

Ok.

With the gaskets for the motor, do you put anything on them, or just them?

Dont add anything to the head or base gasket. If your using the OEM base gasket then make sure the white "putty" is installed up towards the cylinder. Also on the head gasket dont get it upside down, it is very easy to do. There should be a small tab that will line up with the cylinder on the exhaust side if it's on correctly. Just making sure everything is clean and oil free is the important thing.

Ok. I got the cylinder on.

Put the wiseco on the rod, arrow pointing to the exhaust port. Then the gasket. Then the cylinder, witht he rings centered on the little pegs in the ring grooves.

Everything ok so far?

Default Assembling the motor.

The motor is all together and Torqued. Had to ruin a wrech and socket to make a tool to torque the base bolts down with though. But now I have one.

Everything went pretty well. Those damn cir clips are hard to get in the piston though. Tomorrow the motor goes in the bike. By wednesday i should have the rest of the stuff i need and should be running shortly there after.

I cant wait.
